YPU Neutrality

| September 12, 2011

Those of us associated with Yonkers Parents United have decided, as a group, to remain neutral in the primary. We have met with as many candidates as possible, asked them about their plans for education in Yonkers, and published their answers to these questions here, and informed our neighbors of what we have learned in emails and in-person conversations.

We trust that an informed electorate is a better electorate, and that by doing this we not only educate ourselves about our options, but learn more about what can be done to improve our schools for our children.

Individuals associated with our group, however, are free to support whichever candidate they choose, and to advocate on that person’s behalf to their fullest potential. YPU, however, as an organization, has not done that beyond the collection and sharing of election and education-relevant information.
